Our client, a Tier One Investment Bank based in Canary Wharf requires an experienced Unix System Administrator/Engineer to join the firm's Derivatives Processing Team.

You will be responsible for configuring, implementing and monitoring Unix hardware and software in the production environment, investigating SQL database issues, liaising between development and infrastructure teams, designing Autosys jobs and other batch processes, writing Perl programs and implementing high availability recovery plans. Therefore, you will need strong experience of system administration within a Unix/Linux environment.

You will need to have good commercial knowledge of Perl Scripting in terms of being able to write a Perl program from scratch as well as being able to understand existing Perl scripts.

Additional skills with focus around being able to create and debug Autosys jobs and having strong working knowledge of SQL Databases and SQL constructs.

Ideally you will be Degree educated and with previous exposure to working within the Financial Markets.
