Our client is a newly established and well backed, Investment Bank who are becoming leaders in providing world class Islamic Finance and Investment Banking services. They are currently in the process of building their team of finance specialists and are now looking for a Head of IT to lead the IT function and deliver IT services to support this growing business.

As Head of IT you will be solely accountable for all aspects of the provision for the IT service, including managing outsourced vendors (for desktop support, application support, infrastructure etc) and ongoing agreed service levels. In addition to this you will also be required to act as first point of contact for any IT issues which may arise. Initially you will be the sole person in IT, but as the bank grows the aim is to also develop a small internal IT team as well as continuing to use outsourced partners. The key challenges will be to align the business needs with an IT strategy, and devise and deliver a technology environment to help support the growth of the company.

We are therefore looking for a candidate who can demonstrate strategic vision and decision making ability as well as a proven track record of delivery high quality IT services within a demanding financial environment. The successful candidate will need a can do attitude and be able to take a hands-on approach. Previous experience of managing outsourced vendors and service providers is highly desirable.

This role would most likely suit an individual who has been managing an IT function in a smaller financial services firm, perhaps a Hedge Fund or Boutique Investment House. It may also suit someone in a larger Bank who has been running a business applications support team, or project function. Either way it is an excellent opportunity to join a uniquely positioned Investment Bank and take full ownership of the IT strategy and structure and build and manage this over an exciting period of planned growth.
