Cornwallis Elt has always gravitated towards the mid to senior level end of the market, as this has been well suited to our proven methodologies of targeting candidates within the passive, as well as the active markets, and therefore seeking out the very best talent, rather than just that available in the job hunting community.

Having successfully delivered to multiple senior mandates, we have recently established a dedicated Senior Hires practice to offer an alternative to the Global Executive Search firms and provide a truly specialist service within our core markets offering a clear and distinct offering to both our clients and candidates. This was formed as a separate practice in 2013 and is led by the Directors and Principal Consultants of the Buy Side team. The practice services both permanent search mandates as well as interim management.

Within the Buy Side especially, we believe we offer our clients a much deeper and broader knowledge of the senior candidate market due to our extensive market maps of over 300 Buy Side firms. This allows us to not only react quicker than larger more generalist search firms, but also to present a more in-depth and extensive coverage of that candidate market. Furthermore our existing networks enable a closer level of engagement built upon a reputation developed over many years operating within this market. This reputation and associated trust significantly impacts the size of a target community and allows us to approach candidates who might not engage a generalist search firm.

Our Senior Hires practice is staffed by Directors and Principal Consultants with circa 20 years’ recruitment experience each and also, uniquely, with experienced Buy Side Practitioners who have held senior roles in Buy Side firms within Technology and Operations (20 plus years’ experience) and who genuinely understand our clients’ businesses and requirements.

Combined with our existing research functions and extensive databases, this platform offers our clients a highly tailored approach (flexible and adaptable to each individual client) for specific senior recruitment projects, whether the approach is required because of reasons of confidentiality, to tightly control and manage the recruitment message, to reinforce the client’s brand through use of a dedicated search practice or just to target a niche and often passive candidate pool and find the very best talent.

Within the Buy Side, examples of roles include Heads of and “C” Level roles within the infrastructure of a Buy Side firm (covering Technology, Operations or Change Management) including COO, CIO and CFO disciplines. We also recruit using this practice for strategic hires, specialist positions and often mid to senior level roles that require careful handling and attention, or hard to fill recruitment projects requiring very specific or rare skill sets.

Fee structures for our Senior Hires practice may vary according to individual circumstances across retained / non-retained / exclusive arrangements, but are all designed to reward successful delivery of the project rather than the production of a short list or long list of candidates.
