A global insurer is looking for a Head of Engineering to work closely with the Chief Technology Officer to develop, lead, and implement the technical strategy and champion the software engineering culture across the business. You will be responsible for building and developing a team of multi-disciplined engineering talent and take ownership in leading multiple development teams and the development strategy across their platforms and products.
Working across the entire organisation you will be required to engage with senior stakeholders, IT product owners and architecture and change teams to provide hands-on technical leadership and subject matter expertise to develop, maintain, and deliver a coherent, well designed, scalable, and robust technology architecture.
Key requirements for this role:
- Strong technical background and hands on engineering experience with coding knowledge in preferably in C# and .Net.
- Experience working within Financial Services.
- Experience working in an Agile environment and the ability to encourage an Agile working mindset.
- Experience building, coaching, mentoring and leading 40+ strong engineering teams including QA and test automation.
- Extensive microservice and cloud engineering experience, ideally Azure.
- Solid understanding of software development life cycle models and introducing continuous improvement activities, managing the balance of new product features and CI sprints.
- Experience with working practices such as TDD, CI/CD and DevOps.
