A Global Investment Management firm are looking for a Programme manager to join on a contract basis, this will be to manage and support the change of the outsourced technology vendor.
 
You will be responsible for the sourcing strategy, current vendor management and internal operational drive towards efficiency, productivity and management of partners used in the CTO organisation, this will include the following activities: 
 
The Role: 
  • Working with the internal technology team and CTO to define the third-party resource strategy 
  • Drive to peer group beating supplier performance and output  
  • Ensuring we have the right partners to support the technologies used
  • Understanding of optimal supplier delivery models, align these with the technology and infrastructure organisation 
  • Baseline, benchmark and improve partner quality and output via the agreed Agile development metrics 
  • Coaching and support to the current team on how to get the best performance from partners 
  • Coaching and development of their partners to drive performance and increased output 
  • Partnering with Finance to provide third party cost inputs to budgets and forecasting
  • Service budget is in the region of £20M (largely dependent on length of service)
 
Required Skills and Experience:
 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced Financial Services environment
  • Experience working with Investment management
  • Ideally have knowledge of Ojeu
  • Supporting and working with senior stakeholders in a complex environment 
  • Knowledge of how offshore partners structure their business and optimal development models 
  • Experience of distributed Agile software methodology 
  • Experience of working with managed service providers   
  • Ability to frame programme objectives and define strategy to deliver. 
  • Partnering with Sourcing organisations to create best in class deals. 
  • Excellent communicator 
  • Excellent influencing skills 
  • Strong project management ability 
  • Excellent analytical skills, ability to work with large volumes of data 
 
The ideal candidate will have at least three years’ experience in a complex, high pressure environment, driving supplier performance and working on complex projects with multiple senior stakeholders. Candidates who have experience within the Investment management sector could be well suited to this role (but this is not essential). The ideal candidate may be managing or previously managed key technology supplier relationships.
