Business Analyst required to join a Lloyd’s market insurance organisation, working on strategic projects within the innovation space. Working across both new and existing projects, the Business Analyst will support the business through gathering requirements and interpreting them into system solutions. Applicants must possess strong business analysis experience gained within an IT environment, coupled with knowledge of the insurance industry and Lloyd’s market platforms and the experience with SQL/relational databases required to conduct data analysis when necessary. This role will offer the opportunity to work with an innovative organisation within insurance, gaining exposure to a variety of strategic projects at the forefront of the industry.
Key responsibilities:
- Analyse and document “as is” business processes, evaluating the current state of business process and model the “to be” business processes
- Translate business requirements into project artefacts, such as; functional specifications, user stories, wireframes, use cases, report designs, system designs, and data definitions.
- Act as the main point of liaison between the business users and IT department for specific applications
- Undertake data analysis to support: issue investigation, report designs, impact analysis, data quality analysis, data migration analysis, data reconciliation.
- System integration design, data definition, and data flow design.
- Provide business with effective support and advice in relation to the investigation and resolution of issues, the design of new functionality, and changes to processes
Required skills:
- Solid business analysis experience with knowledge of insurance industry terminology, participants, and distribution methods
- Good data analysis skills and techniques (SQL queries, pivot tables/charts, formulae)
- Understanding of Lloyd’s platform, processes, and constraints
- Knowledge of underwriting processes, in-house policy admin systems, and centralised market systems.
- Experience of working with external suppliers to achieve goals aligned to the corporate strategy
- Experience of mapping business processes
- End-to-end experience of the project lifecycle and SDLC.
- Experience of wireframe applications (e.g. Balsamiq)
