Software Engineer – JVM (Kotlin, Java, Scala, Clojure, Groovy), GCP, Agile, Agile, InsureTech – Permanent A Software Engineer is needed by a truly innovative InsureTech aligned to the London Insurance Market who are successfully disrupting Insurance with the use of an Algorithmic Broker platform. They are a unique organisation that utilise their expertise in Specialty Insurance and combine this with cutting edge technology and a modern web stack. Within this role, you will be working on their broker platform which allows them to evolve underwriting intelligently and unlock it on a massive scale. You’ll be building and delivering robust and scalable software for business-critical web-based applications. Principal Accountabilities You will be designing, building, testing, and maintaining API’s and integrations on FASTAPI.You will be developing new functionality in their core Kotlin based services.You will be working directly with their Product team to understand end user requirements and then translate them into an end-to-end technical solution.You’ll assist on assessing their current system architecture and identify opportunities for growth and improvement. Required Skills & Experience Prior experience as a mid-level Software Engineer working across a modern web stack.An advocate for strong Software Engineering principles such as SOLID & DRY.Professional experience with a server-side language which is ideally JVM based (Kotlin, Java, Scala, Clojure, Groovy).Comfortable working within a cloud infrastructure and infrastructure-as-a-code would be beneficial.Experience of working within Agile team, following Scrum or Kanban would be useful.Prior experience of Software Development in Financial Services with a preference held towards FinTech’s or InsureTech’s.
