Our client, a leading Investment Management firm based in the City, are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join their central engineering team on an initial 6-month contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work broadly across the business to drive data strategy and architecture whilst working with agile product teams on full stack solutions.
The ideal candidate will have strong traditional relational database experience (SQL/Oracle etc.) whilst also having knowledge/experience with more modern data concepts such as Cloud, Data Lakes and PaaS. Demonstrable experience of database modelling and workflows is key. Scripting knowledge of either Python or Java would also be highly beneficial.
Experience required:
- Experience with SQL and BI Tooling.
- Knowledge of Java or Python scripting would be highly beneficial as would Linux or Shell Scripting.
- Knowledge of both relational (Oracle,SQL) and non-relational (No-SQL) databases.
