My client, a leading Financial Services organisation with main hubs in London and Nottingham, has a business-critical requirement for a Head of Engineering to join the team in Nottingham on a permanent basis.
For this position, the business is specifically looking for someone who has a proven track record in leading large, global teams of Engineers and driving them forward. It would be a huge advantage to come from a development background yourself, and any Java-aligned experience would also be of significant interest.
In this role you will be reporting directly into a key Head of', who reports into the CTO of the business unit, and you will be responsible for leading a diverse global team of Engineers, managing up to 40 direct reports. You will be helping shape the operational processes to improve efficiency and transparency. You will also facilitate close ties between Technology Leadership and key stakeholders, creating clear agendas within the Engineering function.
To be successful in this role you will need:
At least 15 + years of Engineering experience (likely in a Lead/Head of position at the moment).
A strong understanding of Agile framework.
Proven experience in leading a team of Engineers (on or offshore).
A Java background would be highly desirable Cloud experience (preferably AWS).
Financial Services experience would be advantageous.
A high-energy, motivational personality.
