My client is a leading investment management business looking to hire a 3rd Line Support Engineer, responsible for provision and support of all IT infrastructure for both the UK and the Dutch office. The team works closely with a few Managed Service Providers who are responsible for monitoring and maintaining the organization’s network, servers, firewalls, printers, telephony and audio-visual equipment. The infrastructure has recently been updated with latest storage, security and backup appliances and the business has recently migrated to a new tier 4 Data Centre. You would act as the sole 3rd line individual and be expected to be the point of contact for all Helpdesk and 2nd line team.

What is expected by the 3rd Line Support Engineer:

·         Act as a single point of contact for all IT infrastructure incidents and triage all incoming infrastructure tickets and provision of 2nd and 3rd line support.

·         Ensure that users and stakeholders are kept informed of progress.

·         Liaise with vendors & suppliers to resolve incidents.

·         Review and improve existing Infrastructure support processes.

·         Provide technical support and guidance to the Workplace Support team.

·         Monitoring and maintaining the core infrastructure, working with key vendors and suppliers to ensure SLAs are met.

Essential skills required by the 3rd Line Support Engineer:

·         Proven 3rd line support experience, able to advise and upskill helpdesk and 2nd line team members.

·         Excellent Knowledge of Windows Server 2012 onwards.

·         Proven experience of Office 2016 & Office 365 Administration/Configuration.

·         Good knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Wireless etc.)

·         JIRA and JIRA Service Desk.

·         Proactive & tenacious team player.

·         Organised worker, logical thinker & calm approach, especially under pressure.

Desirable skills required by the 3rd Line Support Engineer:

·         Experience with Microsoft Azure (current infrastructure is mostly on-prem).

·         Market Data applications (Bloomberg, Reuters) including troubleshooting Excel add-ins.
