A React UI Developer is currently sought after by a global Financial Services business to join an existing cross-functional team (Java and React Developers) who are in the process of building out a greenfield business offering that will provide data analytics to clients in relation to their trade activity. This offering is being built in the form of a cloud-hosted (AWS) web portal that will consist of multiple applications and associated APIs.
The day-to-day will involve working end-to-end across the SDLC, understanding and interpreting stakeholder requirements through to designing, developing and implementing appropriate high quality technical solutions.
The team have a strong focus on clean, well-tested code, using Cypress as their preferred tool, utilise a modern DevOps approach for CI/CD and also work in conjunction with the Product team to focus on the User experience and push designs for production.
Additionally, you will have the chance to get involved in backend Java development in the long-term as well as move into a Technical Leadership role for the teams UI component.
To be successful, you will demonstrate the following:
- Strong hands-on coding experience developing Web UI’s in React, using TypeScript/JavaScript
- Involvement and understanding of full development lifecycle within an Agile Scrum environment
- Strong test-driven development experience with a preference towards automation testing using Cypress
- An appreciation of server-side development, with any experience of Java being highly beneficial
- Whilst prior Financial Services experience is not necessary, it is preferable, specifically any exposure to Interest Rates.
