A leading Lloyds’ Market Insurer are currently recruiting for a Desktop Support Engineer to join a growing team on a permanent basis in their London office.
Within this role, you will be working within the Desktop support team providing support across the organisation with a customer first approach. You will be required to complete installs, maintenance and troubleshooting across client software and hardware, be it remotely or onsite. The main focus is to deliver support to the organisations end user compute.
This role will include:
- Assisting office workers with their computer desktop systems
- Providing hardware and software support
- Testing of computers and ensuring that computer systems are functioning properly
- Physical setting up of computers and software system installation for various computer applications and programs
- Identifying and troubleshooting any problems that affect computer operating systems
- Liaising with the wider Desktop team to see where the problems lie and offer solutions
- Maintenance and upgrading of computer systems or offering recommendations on upgrades
- Training staff and orienting them on how to use computer hardware and software systems
- Carrying out other duties as you may be requested by management
- Maintaining other computer peripheral devices such as printers and solving printing problems if they arise.
- Any knowledge of London Market Insurance would be highly regarded, but not essential at all.
Experience required:
- Cisco
- Mac/Windows
- HP device management
- Networking and patching
- Proven work experience as a Desktop Support Engineer or Support Technician.
- Advanced knowledge of computer hardware systems, chipsets, memory modules, and peripherals.
- Knowledge of popular operating systems, software applications, and remote connection systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
