IT Application Analyst – Front Office, Charles River, SimCorp, Asset Management, SQL, Support

A small investment management firm, with best-in-class asset management software, currently requires an Application Analyst to join their IT team on a permanent basis. Here you will become the first hire in a new Application Support function and responsible for increasing the support available to the business, particularly on their primary front office business applications including Charles River and SimCorp Dimension.

The role will entail a mixture of project based and BAU work and you will provide support on implementations, customisations and their impact on BAU while working with the wider IT Team participate in platform upgrades and other small changes and will work alongside multiple departments to upgrade, test and deploy the new versions of their software.
You will:
  • Support the Front office and other departments on different platforms while working with the application vendors where required fixing BAU issues and documenting.
  • Proactively seek to identify business process or IT process improvements
  • Document and update knowledgebase with issue resolution steps, enhancing the IT Services capabilities, reducing direct calls from the front office.
  • Participate in projects focused on the Front Office.
  • Establish working relationships with the business teams and assist users through UAT.
  • Have an active involvement in BAU support and related projects expanding product awareness as the Front office technical landscape evolves.
  • Participate in project meetings and wider departmental workstreams
  • Establish themselves as a reliable contact for the front office, potentially co-locating with the front office teams to ensure smooth systems usage and enhancements.
Key requirements for the role:
  • Experience and understanding of Simcorp Dimension and Charles River, plus focus on support of the front office and adapting responses to align with differing personality sets and technical skills in place in the live trading environment.
  • Knowledge of database queries (T-SQL) and development tools would be beneficial.
  • Experience of financial applications and knowledge of investment management practises.
  • Experience of structured problem solving and highly motivated with a service driven attitude with strong technical aptitude and good inter-personal and communication skills.
  • Experience in a similar application support role
