Product Manager - Insurance
£55,000 - £60,000 per annum
London - Hybrid (2-3 days on site)
We are seeking a Product Manager to oversee the underwriting performance and development of a US flood product for a global specialty re-insurer. This platform leverages advanced science to accurately assess flood risk at a localized level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee underwriting performance for the US flood product.
- Analyze quote volumes, hit rates, and overall portfolio performance.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and academic institutions to integrate new flood data sources.
- Innovate and enhance product offerings.
- Advocate for the product in business development discussions.
- Utilize claims and exposure data to refine pricing strategies.
- Maintain and update relevant documentation and forms.
Candidate Profile:
We are looking for a technically skilled and personable individual with a strong understanding of flood risk, backed by experience in technical underwriting, catastrophe modeling, or actuarial science. The ideal candidate will have:
- A background in a data-centric role within the insurance industry.
- A degree in an analytical discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Science, Engineering, or Economics).
- A solid grasp of catastrophe models and actuarial techniques.
- Exceptional business and communication skills.
- Proficiency in SQL, with programming and GIS skills being advantageous.
- Experience in the US E&S market is preferred but not required.
