A Technical Architect with in-depth knowledge of Java engineering is sought after by a global banking institute to join the Trade Finance Technology Group of their Corporate Banking arm. Specifically, you will be joining a team that own a platform responsible for setting and enforcing credit limits with regards to trading activity of their corporate clients, with a major project in the works to expand this platform into the Investment Bank.
Your role in this will be to define target-state architecture and roadmap (in line with business requirements) and deliver detailed system architecture diagram and technical specifications that the delivery teams can follow.
Coming from a hands-on Java background, you will work directly with the engineering teams to drive the build out of this platform, putting in place designs that will enable effective scaling, integration and high performance of the platform, that will allow it to cope with increased demand. The team are also looking at moving to a hybrid cloud setup in the near future, which you will also help drive and so will have previously delivered a similar piece of work.
Desired skills:
- Strong Java knowledge, coming from a hands-on background and still being confident in ability to read and review code, suggesting amendments/improvements to Engineers.
- An ability to design and architect at scale, with an appreciation of globally distributed systems, multi-platform integration, dependencies etc.
- Clear, confident communication skills, being able to engage effectively with both technology teams and business stakeholders.
- Prior experience designing solutions for public cloud, preferably GCP.
- A background working in enterprise level organisations, preferably Investment Banking.
