Data Engineer | London (Hybrid)
A London-based IT consultancy is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to lead the design and delivery of scalable data platforms across client projects and internal initiatives. This is a permanent, hybrid role and offers the opportunity to shape data strategy, mentor junior engineers, and work hands-on with cutting-edge cloud technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver modern data platforms and analytics solutions using Azure and related technologies.
- Lead data engineering projects from planning through to deployment, ensuring scalability and performance.
- Collaborate with clients to define requirements, produce technical documentation, and advise on best-fit tools and architectures.
- Mentor engineers and share expertise across the team.
- Act as a senior technical contact, shaping data strategy and governance.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Senior Data Engineer within a consultancy environment.
- Strong skills in Azure Data Factory, Data Lake and Synapse.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, Matillion, Power BI/Tableau and Snowflake.
- Solid understanding of data modelling, ETL design and API integration.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
